My ‘Always Pan’ Review After One Year Of Use

The Always Pan flooded many of our social media feeds a few years ago and it felt like everyone was buying it. I mean, it’s beautiful! And there are over 25k reviews of this thing. Since the rising fame of the Always Pan (lol), they have since launched the Perfect Pot. The fanfare over a pan seems sort of ridiculous to me, but after having a terrible experience with Greenpan cookware, I was in the market last year for a new nontoxic nonstick pan and decided on the Always Pan.

A Nonstick Pan Peptalk:

Before diving into the review, I think it’s important to manage your expectations on a nonstick pan. Gone are the days where your cookware lasts as long as your grandmother’s did. Especially with anything that is nonstick and nontoxic. Also, depending on how often you cook, the longevity of your cookware can vary drastically. I usually cook two hot meals a day (breakfast and dinner) and knew this thing was going to be getting a ton of use.

Also worth mentioning, in regards to expectations, is that the Always Pan can’t go into the oven. This was fine for me since I also have a dutch oven.

The Good:

First off, it’s aesthetically pleasing and nice to look at in my kitchen. It’s also very lightweight. I can easily lift it with one arm when it’s full of food. I appreciate that I don’t have to use a potholder when touching the handle, and the spoon stand is a nice touch (although I rarely use this feature, to be honest). It’s also great that when you buy the pan, it comes with what’s needed to steam veggies. I really love this – especially when preparing food for G.

The Not-So-Good:

My only wish for this pan was that it was a smiiiidge bigger. When cooking for our family of four, it’s a tight squeeze to get everything in and not have it be overflowing. If I am doubling a meal to make it last for two nights, I have to pull out my dutch oven to be able to fit everything. The size is really my only complaint.

Since using the pan twice a day for the last (almost) year and a half, it’s definitely time for a new one. I’d say it lasted about a year, and then the nonstick really started to wear off and cleaning became very difficult. However this is not a dealbreaker for me. It’s to be expected with all nonstick pans no matter which brand you buy.

Will I Buy It Again?

Very randomly at the time of this review, Our Place is having their summer sale. You can save almost $30 on either of their cookware options. I know they do a big Cyber Monday sale as well. I’m deciding on what color I want next, and will be taking advantage of this sale.
