It’s hard to believe that Labor Day is only two and a half weeks away. We have fun plans (sans kids!), and I’m excited to spend a few days out and about wearing some of my summertime staples. Like this dress, these shorts that I’ve practically lived in the last three months, and my all time favorite swimsuits.
That being said, my mind is on the next season and I started pinning some style inspo a few weeks ago. I found it very helpful when I did this back in the spring. It helps me hone in on my personal style for the season and what I actually want to buy.
Trousers + Sneakers
Based on what I’ve been pinning, it’s clear I’m having a moment with trousers and sneakers. I’ve been a committed New Balance 574 fan for the last seven years. The sneakers are classic, comfortable, and go with everything. Pairing them with trousers is giving a cool girl + grandpa look that I’m really into, lol.
I’m really loving the cropped trouser because they feel dressed up, but I also need to be able to wear them with my rain boots or Blundstones since it gets cold in Oregon. I’m not really seeing how floor length trousers could work with rain boots right now. Never say never though…
- Trousers I’m considering: Reformation (and getting them hemmed), Able, or The Reset
Black Denim
I’ve already declared my love for all things Agolde Denim on this website. The last pair of black denim jeans I owned were from Everlane back in 2019, and they were super skinny. It’s hilarious how that was just a few years ago, but already feels so dated. I’m obviously eyeing some black Agoldes as well as potentially trying some AYR denim for the first time. My style preference with denim is always cropped, and I find that a 25 or 26 inseam is perfect for my 5’4″ height.
- Black denim I’m considering: AYR, Agolde Option 1, Agolde Option 2, Agolde Option 3,
Jackets, Shackets, & Fisherman Sweaters
I never really knew how to wear a denim jacket with denim jeans, but because this fall/winter I’m leaning towards black denim and trousers, I’m throwing around the idea of adding a jean jacket into the mix. I’ve been eyeing the one from Able for the last 10 months. I love that it’s affordable, and lots of influencers that I follow work with this brand so I’m sure there is a discount I could go find.
Last winter I rotated through the same three Target sweaters. I was in no position to splurge on sweaters because I had just had a baby, my body was changing, I was nursing a lot, and G’s spit up game was no joke. I’m excited to get a few sweaters this winter that I can rotate through over the months and have them be a little higher quality than Target.
My husband owns three shackets and loves them. I have yet to buy one, but I’m on the lookout for a canvas option as opposed to flannel. It feels very PNW to own a shacket and wear it with some blundstones and take a trip to the coast. Maybe if I get a shacket, we will take more trips to the coast. That will be my reasoning for this purchase – hah.
- Sweater options: Sézane option 1, Reformation, Jenni Kayne, Sézane option 2
- Shacket options: Bridge & Burn, Alex Mill
