A Favorite Smoothie Recipe

I know it’s a bold claim to say this is the best smoothie recipe, but I’ve been whipping this up every single week for the last year. It’s become a bit of a staple in our house. I’ll make it for friends and family that come visit. My mom even told me after taking a sip that something this healthy doesn’t feel like it should taste that good! The ingredients are below and I totally wing it with the amounts. I listed out approximate measurements, but I just dump in what feels right. Also, I do not add in ice. The frozen fruit is cold enough.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Macadamia Nut Milk (we use unsweetened Milkadamia)
  • Large handful of spinach, roughly 2 cups
  • 1 banana
  • Big scoop of a nut butter
  • Big scoop of yogurt (we like unsweetened cashew yogurt)
  • Sprinkle in some flaxseed
  • 6-7 large frozen strawberries
  • 3/4 cup of blueberries

Blend in a high-powered blender for about 2 minutes. We have a Vitamix and I’ll crank it up to about a 7 and let it do its thing while I put everything away. We enjoy one of these on average about twice a week. Whenever I feel like we are getting sick or I just haven’t had enough fruits and veggies in my diet I’ll quickly blend this all up and A and I will split it at lunch. He loves smoothies.

Pour and enjoy!
