Right before Christmas we took the kids out to Mount Hood to sled. It feels so magical to drive away from the city, and less than an hour and a half later you’re in a winter wonderland! If you’re an Oregonian, we went to White River West Sno Park. We’ve been before and it’s awesome. On a clear day, you will get incredible views of the mountain.
It was the perfect day weather-wise. Sunny, no wind, and not freezing cold. We spent about 2 hours sledding, and then headed back to the car for lunch and hot chocolate. I grabbed both sleds from target and they worked really well. All four of us had so much fun!
Dressing Kids For Weather
I’m grateful A is in forest school, because for days like today we did not have to go and buy special winter gear, and I was never nervous that he was too cold. He wears a base layer, quilted puffer pants, a sweatshirt, a puffer jacket, these gloves, and then his rain suit to keep everything dry. As always, G is in her bunting that is the warmest thing I’ve found for small toddlers.
As we were walking back to the car, A told me “that was SO MUCH FUN!”. I was a happy (and relieved!) mama.
