What’s On My Nightstand And Two Things I’m Hoping To Add

In the last few months I’ve gotten very into my bedtime routine. I always sleep better if throughout the day I’ve drank enough water, worked out in some capacity, and gone through a nighttime routine to calm my mind and body down and prepare for sleep. I need good sleep now more than ever before in my life. With kids waking up in the middle of the night and almost no time for rest during the day, I need a full night’s sleep to be able to function and accomplish everything I need to in a day. Essentially my goal is to make my bedroom feel like a luxury hotel. I think that’s something we can all be on board with, right?

My Bedside Table

My table is from West Elm and was originally in our living room in Salt Lake (similar). We repurposed it for my nightstand in our bedroom in Portland. I have the wicker caddy to store the book I’m currently reading, hair ties, a sleeping mask, and my glasses. This solves the problem of the table having no drawers. The wicker caddy I have is sold out, but here is a similar one.

I like to take my jewelry off to put on hand lotion before bed. I don’t put lotion on my hands during the day because I will wash it off 30 minutes later when I inevitably need to wash my hands or cook or wash one of my children’s faces. I love Tubby Todd’s lotion for women (I don’t love that it’s labeled for moms… obviously anyone can use this lotion). The lime and ginger smells so good.

I used Erbaviva products my entire second pregnancy. I have the foot balm still and I’ve been using that on my feet each night. It’s oily so I need to wear socks to bed (I know this is a deal breaker for some). It keeps my feet looking like a complete dried up disaster.

Photo is of myself and C when we were in Switzerland in 2019. We actually have zero photos in our bedroom of our children. I wanted to create our room that is just for us and a place that is calm and zen.

What I’d Like To Add

There are two things I want to add in the next few months. I’ve got my eye on some Aesop lotion. The bottle is aesthetically pleasing and I’ve only heard good things about Aesop’s products. This will also help with my goal of the luxury hotel vibes.

The second thing I’ve been eyeing are some legit faux flowers or stems. The greenery I have now is cheap and from Target a few years ago. It would be fun to have a collection of stems to stick in the vase to switch out for each season and holidays.

One thing I will not be adding to my nightstand is a charging pad. While my phone does get charged in our bedroom, it’s as far away as possible from where I am sleeping. This helps me read and wind down and not be on my phone right before falling asleep.
