I’ve been a regular Public Goods user for almost two years. I was first drawn to the company by their simple designs for everyday home products (soaps, lotion, body wash etc). I was sick of bright obnoxious bottles sitting on my counters, and loved the clean look of their products. Once I read about their sustainability efforts, I was sold on becoming a member. Over the last two years, Public Goods has added so many more products to their site, and today I’m sharing what I order each month.
How The Membership Works And What It Costs
After a free two week trial, the yearly membership is $79. In order to qualify for free shipping, you need to spend $45 or more. Because of this, I slowly make a list of what we need to restock, and then each month I place an order. To be honest, I love that they require this so that I bulk up my one order. It’s better for the environment to have one large box coming each month than several small boxes over the course of several weeks (something I’m trying to stop doing with Prime).
Soaps & Toiletry Items
The hand soap bottle is what originally grabbed my eye. I first saw this on social media in someone’s kitchen and I had to have it in mine. Then, after looking into the brand, I was elated to discover that almost everything they sell is organic, non-GMO, and gluten free. We consistently have a backstock of the hand soap, body wash, dishwasher detergent, and dish soap in our home. I love that you can buy the large bags of soap to refill the bottles you already have. Less plastic!
Other items I’ve purchased for our bathroom and self care are the towels, tampons, and lotion. All great, all do their job, and all look simple and aesthetically pleasing. I have not tried any of their face products. As mentioned in another post, I’m a bit of a Beautycounter fanatic, and don’t plan on switching right now.
I love having all of these matching products available for guests when they come to visit as well. It is a simple way to elevate an experience for any visitors we host. It makes me feeling like I’m running my own little hotel in our guest bedroom.
Kitchen Items
We have these dish towels and they are great. To be honest, they are just dish towels – ha! But I do love the look and they do what they were made for. I put all of our olive oil and avocado oil in bottle dispensers, but I like that I can easily order a refill of this when needed. I’m not joking when I say we order six (!!) bags of the ground coffee (I know, but it’s what we drink during the week and I just need something to give me caffeine. We are good Portlanders and drink the expensive coffee on the weekend – promise!). We throw the bags we aren’t using in the freezer and slowly make our way through them. At only $6 a bag, the coffee is a really good deal.
Other Things
I have yet to try out their wine. I think this is a new product they added recently. I plan to give it a try on my next order. The snacks are really good and fun to throw in your order as well as their candles (which are super affordable). I get all of our hand sanitizer from here, too! We have the small hand sanitizer dispenser and the big bottle as well. I just refill the travel size bottle as needed.
Have you used Public Goods? Anything you have tried that I need to add to my next order? Let me know!
