Our Holiday Decorations

We’ve Come A Long Way!

Last night I saw a photo of our first apartment from 11 years ago during the holidays. The photo popped up in my Google photos memories and I saw our tiny Christmas tree sitting in the corner. We were young newlyweds in our Chicago apartment that was only 625 square feet. We barely had room for a tiny tree.

I look around our home now with our two Christmas trees and 1000+ lights display in the front of our house and I’m here to say the magic and meaning of Christmas was the same eleven years ago as it is today. All that to say I love these Christmas decorations in our home, but none of this you need in order to celebrate.

I absolutely love decorating for Christmas though! Especially with kids. So if you’re in need of some decor, everything we love is linked below.

Star / Candle Stick Holders / Holiday Greenery / Garland / Stockings / Tree Skirt / Holiday Bells / Light Up Garland / Battery Operated Candles / Light Up Trees / Nutcracker Ornaments / Wooden Tree Garland

All Of Our Christmas Decorations:

Star: I bought this last year. It’s sparkly, easy to put on top of the tree, and not very expensive.

Candle Stick Holders: An Amazon win! I debated splurging on ‘real’ candle stick holders, but since they’re only out for a few weeks a year, I went with the cheaper options. They are very gold and shiny, but they work for the holidays.

Holiday Greenery: Mine are from West Elm but are sold out. They are very similar and from Pottery Barn. I replace our greenery in all the vases around our house with this more Christmasy option.

Garland: We’ve had this garland since 2019 and it’s still in perfect condition and looks real! I love garland but I hate the mess of it. Get this and then buy a candle that smells like pine and it will feel real, lol.

Stockings: Listen.. these aren’t my favorite. I love the look of them when they are not customized, but the font turned out to not be my favorite. We’ll keep them for a while but eventually I’ll likely replace them. They are high quality and very affordable, just don’t get your names put on them!

Tree Skirt: We’ve had this for three years and still love it!

Holiday Bells: One of the first things my kids ask about when the holiday decorations come out is if we’re going to put the bells on the front door. Ours are very old (from when I was a kid!), but this brass option are cute!

Outdoor Light Up Garland: This is the most affordable and best quality outdoor garland I found. It’s a true candescent warm light and is very long. Highly recommend! Could use indoor too, obviously. It was sold out on Amazon for a while, but it’s back!

Battery Operated Candles: These are amazing! Remote control and safe with kids around. They also have a timer option.

Light Up Trees: The little trees I’ve had for years are on their last year. Will be buying these! I love that they light up.

Nutcracker Ornaments: We were at a Christmas Sweater Party a few weeks ago and they had giant nutcrackers in their home. My kids are now obsessed with nutcrackers and I’ll be adding these to my tree this year.

Wooden Tree Garland: We have a few garlands that wrap around our tree and I love them. I’m not sure why, but it makes the tree seem cozier?
