My Fall Edit

Hello! How ya been?

I always take the summers off from posting here. But now school has started and fall is fast approaching! Our oldest child started Kindergarten this year, and I really am giddy to be kicking off our family’s season of life where we have kids in elementary school. It’s going to be a sweet time.

I’ve shared my love for Sézane in the past, but wooowwza their fall collection is so good. I gravitate towards clothes I can wear to the grocery store, to school drop off, or on a date. My clothes need to work with all the different roles I have and need to be easy to wear. I’m sharing what I’ve ordered and my favorited items from Sézane. I’m also including some other pieces for fall that I’m eyeing.

Sizing with Sézane Tips:

I love that they offer sizing advice for every single item on their website. Personally, I find that their bottoms run small, the tops and t-shirts are true to size, and the sweaters run a bit large. If it helps, I wear a size 6 in their jeans, a small in tops and tees, and usually an XS in sweaters.

What I’ve Bought

Wool Sweater

I already own the Emile cardigan, but I wanted an option that was a v-neck. I got this option from Sézane. I have this cotton cardigan from last fall, but I was looking for something a little longer. Really excited to throw this over The Best T-Shirt Ever this fall.

Belt

I’ve wanted a belt for so long and finally decided on this black one. It’s better than I expected, honestly. I was worried it was going to be shiny, but it’s a great basic leather belt. Be sure to measure for your size before your order! I did not do this, and had to send back the baby-sized belt that showed up – hah. I think a belt takes a fine outfit up to the next level. I love the way one of my favorite influencers always does this.

Black Sweater

I own two of Everlane’s ribbed turtlenecks and I love them. I’ve owned them for over three years. But I wanted an option that was not a turtleneck. I ended up choosing this black sweater. I love the button details on the arms. I’m envisioning this with the Le Crop jeans, the black belt, and some loafers!

Vest

As soon as I saw this vest I had to have it. I love a vest moment! I’ve already worn this to a kid’s birthday party. It’s such a classic look and is perfect for transitioning into cooler days. There is nothing worse than showing up somewhere and you think will be cold fall day, only for the sun to come out and you’re sweating. This vest really shines on those weird / confusing weather days. Also, just like it’s styled, it looks great over a t-shirt.

What’s In My Saved Folder

Loafers

I am dying to get a pair of loafers. I’m not sure if they’ll be from Sézane or elsewhere. But I love the look! I’m eyeing these, but they’re quite a splurge! They’re the best ones I’ve seen so far, though. I plan on getting some fun socks (like any of these!) to wear with them. I love a suede loafer too, but with the rain in Portland, I’m likely going to go for a leather look.

L’iconique Droit Trousers

I grabbed these jeans in white for the summer and I LOVE them! I’m 5’4″ and they fit me perfectly. They aren’t too long or too short. I’m waiting patiently for the gray color to come back in stock. You can’t go wrong with that price point too!

Barrel Jeans

Love them or hate them, they’re everywhere. I have my eye on the Citizens of Humanity pair, but Madewell makes a pair that are $100 less. They went viral so they’re sold out right now (I’m hearing a re-stock is coming in November). I’m not sure if I want to wait around for them or just splurge on Citizen’s version.

Sneakers

I still don’t own a pair of Sambas or Gazelles. They’re always selling out, or the color I want is waaay overpriced. I’d love to own a pair but I don’t have the time or energy right now to be stalking when they come back in, or sleuthing for a pair that isn’t marked up and in my size. For now I’ll be reaching for my trusty sneakers I’ve been wearing since 2015.
